Founded here at the University of Illinois in 1923, Phi Eta Sigma is the nation's oldest and largest honor society for first-year college students in all disciplines. The three Greek words appearing on the crest form the motto of the organization: 'Knowledge is Power'. Phi Eta Sigma Alpha Chapter offers a large community of high-achieving students, with over 1,000 current members.
